The Phoenix Conservatory of Music, PCM, is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization whose mission is to unleash the power of music in children and families by providing a platform for creativity and expression, and preserving music as an essential building block to a person's development.
PCM is 100% outreach and is committed to providing instruction and interaction with professional teaching artists for a reasonable cost.
PCM serves over 2,800 community members annually through:

PCM Beliefs:
- Music increases the individual capacity to learn and be a life long learner.
- Music and Movement, along with Arts and Academic Integration, is a tool to teach and learn through.
- With Quality Standards based programming, individual, family and community potential can be built.
- Music is an inherent part of being human, and that the appreciation of, enjoyment in, and creation of music should be a part of daily life.
PCM's Vision:
- Advance the love of music
- Give children opportunities they would otherwise not be given
- To build the citizen artist who actively participates in music; directly improving their quality of life
- Expose people, especially children and families, to a well rounded music education
- Be a primary resource for schools and fill the gap of music education where needed by providing direct programming, professional development for educators, and arts and academic integrated programs.
- Feed the creative juices of our community and have a demonstrative impact on creating positive pathways for expressions, especially for children.
Last year (2006-2007) PCM utilized 15 regular artists and 20 guest artists to facilitate 119 different programs with over 30+ program partners, including 5 schools and 9 school districts, and served a total number of 5,378 community members: 2,674 community members were served in week to week facilitated programs with 4 to 45 hours of direct instruction. PCM served 263 educators in professional development sessions and 2,437 community members served in one time events like concerts of family sharing events! This is a 31% growth over last year!
But it's not just numbers! These are lives that PCM was honored to be a part of. It is an organizational belief that music is truly important and unleashing the power of it can do wondrous things!

The Phoenix Conservatory of Music became a 501(3) organization on May 29, 1998, and was founded in January 1998, by Bonnie Lou (Toigo) Coleman and Eric Olander.
