Exploring Music

Each of these three workshops are facilitated by two members of the Conservatorys professional faculty and are structured to present a fun way for participants to learn about and explore instrument in the percussion, wind and string families.  Each of the three workshops focuses on a specific instrument group, i.e. percussion, and include common and ethnic instruments in that group.  Students are led through demonstrations and hands-on activities designed to help them develop a true understanding of the principles of sound related to these instruments.  Every participant should complete each workshop with the basic knowledge of how these instruments work and how they are physically played by their performers.
