Our Mission
At The Phoenix Conservatory of Music, we know that music is a way for us to
grow, to learn, and to play together. Music can soothe our soul, lift us
up, bring us closer, and teach us to work together. We experience
creativity, process based thinking, and problem solving. We can use music
as a tool to fulfill our potential: as community, as educators, as families,
and as people.
The Phoenix Conservatory of Music's (PCM's) mission is to unleash the power
of music!
We are a primary resource for schools and fill the gap of music education
where needed, advance the love of music, give children, families,
communities and schools opportunities they otherwise would not be given, and
nurture the citizen artist who actively participates in music; directly
improving their quality of life.
We expose kids of all ages, 6 months to 106 to a well rounded music
education that focuses on process based learning, creativity, and problem
solving; preparing them for the reality of tomorrow with real world
applications, and feed the creative juices of our community.
PCM believes that learning music increases the individual capacity to learn
and be a life long learner. Music and movement are tools to teach and learn
through. With quality standards based programming, individual, family, and
community potential can be built.
PCM believes that music is an inherent
part of being human, and that appreciation of, enjoyment in, and creation of
music should be part of daily life.
We achieve our mission by providing a platform for creativity and
expression, and preserving music as an essential building block to a
person's development through:
